Shelter Rentals

The City parks feature five shelters that are available to the public for rental from May through September each year. The rental fee is $55.00 per shelter per day and is required at the time of the reservation. The City does not accept reservations for the gazebos.

A $25.00 deposit is required at the time the key(s) are picked up. The deposit fee will be returned if the shelter(s) are cleaned, and not damaged and the key is returned.

Reservations

Reservations must be made in person at City Hall Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM excluding holidays. Access to the shelter is available to you on your reservation date from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The City will accept reservations two years in advance. Civic and church organizations are exempt from this requirement and will be able to reserve a shelter on a continual basis. Reservation dates may be changed no more than three times before forfeiting reservation fee. Changes must be made in writing, in person, at City Hall.

Cancellations

Reservation rental fee is non-refundable.

Keys

In addition to the rental fee a deposit fee of $25.00 (cash or check) per shelter; is required at the time the key(s) are picked up; either the day before the event or the Friday before a weekend event.

Key pickup is available at City Hall; located at 639 S Second Street between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday. If you forget to pick up the key during normal business hours, you will need to contact the Public Works on call phone at 715-965-0478. Arrangements will be made to pick the key up and a minimum of two hours overtime pay rate to be charged to you for their time. 

Keys must be returned the next business day.

Padlocks

When not in use all padlocks should be placed in the locked position on the overhead doors. Replacement cost for lost or missing padlocks/keys is the responsibility of the party reserving the shelter. Costs: Padlock - $20.00, Key - $5.00.

Cleanup

It is the responsibility of the party reserving the shelter(s) to cleanup the area and return picnic tables and garbage cans to the inside of the shelter at the close of their event. This includes sweeping the floor and wiping the tables. The City does not provide cleaning supplies. Trash cans are available and the city will supply three trash bags. Tied trash bags should be placed in the dumpster located near the shelter(s).

Animals

Domestic animals are not allowed in the park except those restrained by a leash 8-foot or less in length. All domestic animals are prohibited on all grassy areas in the City parks and in the waters in or adjacent to the City parks.

Park Hours

Park facilities are closed to the public between the hours of 11:00 PM - 5:00 AM except the camping areas and Riverwalk, which are available for use 24-hours a day. Authorized events that have obtained a permit by City Council are exempt.

Beer / Liquor

Consumption of beer and liquor is allowed in the park, however the sale of beer is prohibited.

* Under Wisconsin Statutes, a Temporary Class "B" beer license is available to organizations that meet certain requirements. Applications must be turned in 20 days in advance to meet waiting period requirements set by the State of Wisconsin. Contact the Clerks Office at (715) 748-1181 for more information.

Permits

A permit, for a period not to exceed three days, is required for advertising, soliciting, peddling, selling or otherwise promoting a commercial activity on City park property. Please contact the Clerks Office at (715) 748-1181 for more information.
