The City of Medford water utility provides water service to approximately 2,200 customers located within the City limits.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Wisconsin maintains regulatory review and approval authority over matters pertaining to major capital improvements, accounting, financial reporting, user rates, and other procedures.
In 1997 the water utility installed a SCADA System (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) to monitor its wells and water towers. In 1999 the water utility developed Well #11 installing sodium hypochlorite disinfection; thus eliminating chlorine gas disinfection and establishing a new test bench for testing meters as required by the PSC. In 2003 the City erected its second water tower and in 2023 a third water tower was erected.
