Summary of Electric Rates
The following is a summary of Medford Electric Utility rates as authorized by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. These rates went into effect on June 30, 2023.
Prompt Payment of Bills: A charge of 3%, but not less than 50¢ will be added to bills not paid within 20 days from the date of issuance. This charge is applicable to all customers.
Power Cost Adjustment Clause (PCAC): All energy rates are subject to a positive or negative power cost adjustment clause equivalent to the amount by which the current costs of purchased power is greater or lesser than the base cost of purchased power.
Residential Service Rg-1:

General Service Gs-1:

Applies to single and three phase customers, including commercial, institutional, government, farm and other customers where maximum demand does not exceed 40kW for 3 or more months in a consecutive 12-month period.
Residential and General Service Optional Time-of-Day Service Gs-2:

Optional for all Residential and General Service customers. Customers must apply to the Utility for this service, customer shall remain on this rate a minimum of one year and waives all rights to billing adjustments arising from a claim that the bill for service would be less on another rate.
Pricing periods:
On-peak: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding certain holidays.
Off-peak: All times not specified as on-peak including all day Saturday, Sunday and the following holidays; New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Large Power Time-of-Day Service Cp-2:

Security Lighting Service G1-1:

Available for 175 watt mercury vapor and 100 watt high pressure lights. Customer will own and maintain lights. This schedule is closed to any new mercury vapor lights.
